4 DAY TACTICAL HANDGUN
 
If you know your going to a gunfight then you take the biggest gun you can that will do the job. Problem is, in the law enforcement and security arenas you don’t always know when that is going to be. One does not normally get to pick one’s battlefield. Even the most “routine” type of calls can suddenly turn very deadly. In these incidents the only firearm that you will have readily available is the handgun. While the rifle, subgun, and shotgun are sexy, they’re not always available to us when the problem starts. As another trainer likes to say, “A handgun is what you use to fight your way back to the rifle or shotgun you should have taken in the first place.” While this is a true enough statement, most of the time we don’t know we’re about to be involved in a fight for our life.
 
How proficient are you with your sidearm? Can you clear malfunctions quickly and stay in the fight? What about movement in and around the kill zone? In Trident Firearms Academy LLC course you will learn the techniques that are necessary to prepare you mentally as well as hone your skills in marksmanship and gun handling.
 
In the four day Tactical Handgun class you will learn how to perfect your draw stroke so it is quick and efficient. Speed or sometimes called emergency reloads when the slide locks back on an empty gun, positional shooting, proper use of cover and concealment, dealing with multiple threats, these will all be discussed, demonstrated, and trained to make you, the officer on the street, as prepared and proficient as you can be. At TFA we look at gunfight statistics, talk with others who have been involved in deadly force encounters, and gain as much information as possible to pass along to you that which we know works in gunfights. At TFA we look at every technique that we teach and ask ourselves; is it safe, and is it the best economy of motion.
